This game is great, and violence is not encouraged. I don't understand why it got an M rating.

It depends. But it probably will be fine and, as mentioned in the review, you can avoid killing people.

This game can be played many different ways. If you feel like killing people like crazy, then you can do that...but doing so is never rewarded. However, if you kill only when it is extremely necessary then the game is very different. Because there are 3 different plot variable endings, so the game is shaped by what you chose. And at least with the xbox 360 version, (which is what I have played ) the appropriateness of it doesn’t depend of your age, but on your maturity to discern between right and wrong.

im 13, have every splinter cell game except the cruddy PSP one. I played the Xbox version of this, was awesome, and i just got the 360 version for 10 bucks.
Really good so far. Not as bad content wise as Chaos Theory was.

Not to sound mean or anything, but do you realize that this is the review of the xbox, GC, PS2, and Wii version, not the 360 or PS3 version. They are extremely different. In the 360 and PS3 version there is blood on walls and floors throughout the game, occasionally with handprints in it. There is also pornagraphy randomly scattered throughout the earlier levels, but the ratings on the back say nothing of this. The game also looks good, but not as good as games during the time of its release, but you can decide for yourself from the pictures in the review... Yes, to be specific they are the 360 versions pictures. To be honest the position they put the player in when he/she has to kill/not kill someone in several parts of the game really made me feel like I'm actually about to kill someone. And this has never happened to me before. The sound of this game is quite good, from gunfire and explosions to small clicks and creaks from doors. The language is there but not as bad as chaos theory, this is mainly because you have to be alot more stealthy. The enemies do curse in other languages, but I only caught that once. Overall I would say that the 360 and PS3 versions age restriction would fall into the category of 16 at earliest. The xbox, ps2, wii and gc versions probably fall into 15 years at earliest.

The only comment I have is this: The game is very open ended, so if a player makes a different choice than you did, then his or her game will be vastly different.

Something I didn't stress quite enough in the review was the planning and premeditation that goes into killing enemies. There is no blood or gore shown, but the planning of a murder is sort of unsettling. And unlike what I said in my last paragraph, it would be a good idea for kids (and many teens) to ignore Double Agent.

While this is a fun game, I also think that there are more Christian friendly choices out there.
