Cameron, your right on. How many of you like the Christmas carol What Child is This? Or how about the song it was the tune to, Greensleeves? I guess your not all that aware of the evils origins of that song, huh?

By that logic, we shouldn't pay taxes. We all know what America is endorsing nowadays, but just because we pay taxes doesn't mean we endorse Abortion clinics and Casinos, things built from tax money. So don't tell me you don't have any knowledge of where you money is going.

Maybe I jumped a little on the gun on that.

For those that have the game, I suggest you check out Kutless, Underoath, and the Devil Wears Prada.

I never said you did, but I'm sure you're only one of the few who wouldn't. I've seen comments that say just that, only in more words. You're right though, there are better choices out there.

Me, I probably wouldn't play this game. For one, I'm not musical. For another thing, I probably wouldn't like hearing swear words and talk about immorality. But I do like some secular rock, mostly back in the old days, like the 50s and 60s. But I'm sure in the eyes of most who don't approve of games like this, or rock music in general, I'm "one of them." (It always seems to become an "us verses them" thing when it comes to entertainment)

I never said you sold your soul to the devil. I'm saying that there are better choices out there.

If you don't have any convictions playing this game, go on ahead. Do think about what Jesus would think, as he is right there with you.

@Jake:

Bands before actually came close to promoting good thing. I know one oldies song I have actually sounded like it was promoting faithfulness. She'd Rather Be with Me, I believe it was. At least it's better than what they sing about now.

Of course, I'm sure since I listen to rock music (oldies rock mind you) I'm sure my point is moot because I'm obviously either decieved or under the influence of the devil. Does that sound extreme to you? Doesn't to me; a few comments on this suggest just that.

Even so, if you can't play this game and not feel right about it, I would encourage you to get rid of it. And I don't approve of songs that feature steady streams of profanity or glorify...well immoral activities. Like I said though, I'm sure my point is moot.

Their's nothing inheritanly wrong with Rock Music. I did some research, and it actually came from the sin of slavery and the Black Church.

Having said that, we should stick to the better choices whenever possible. A game Guitar Praise exists that is just like this, except with Christian songs. Why are we supporting bands like this, yet ignoring our Christian brothers and sisters who are making music that is even better than this?

I do own this game, but I can't see myself playing it anymore. Too many songs with objectionable content on it. Here's a quote I found on the internet. "Name one secular band that does not promote an immoral song. You can't, because there are no bands that exists that do that." Sounds like something a preacher would say? This actually came from switchfoot.

Overall, it's your choice whether to buy it or not, but ask God about what's acceptable. Also, at least consider Guitar Praise.

@B: wit your logic its almost impossible to enjoy life, I believe Jesse is spot on, and there is a fine line between what you can and cannot do but seriously AC/DC is a good band, there is a reason why they are as famous as they are. And seriously, Satanic Ties? Come on lets try not to take every little thing so seriously

Guitar Hero Metallica is amazing. Best of the best in music games if you're a metal fan. A little edgy lyrics wise though.

I think rock band 2 has a better song list than GH world tour but I like world tour's instruments better. I do play real drums and I can tell that you need symbols and a hi-hat to play good songs. If all you have is four drums than you won't be able to play a good song. I also like guitar hero better because of the new Metallica game that just came out. It probably has the best song list ever and I am a huge fan of Metallica. The only problem I have with world tour is that I have to set my drum set in different positions so my base pedal will work. Those things break real easy. Now for me playing real drums is a whole lot easier than playing guitar hero and rock band drums, and as a drummer I can tell that some of the beats aren't exactly what the real drummer from the band is playing. I still like these games but playing real instruments will really show how good of an expert you really are.
