You talked about a few interesting points in this post. I found this by using Google and I must admit that I already subscribed to the site, it is quite decent ;)

Now that's a good question. Personally for me, the only connection I have for secular music is for playing games like Rock Band. I'd say if you play this, try to get them listening to Christian music instead. Well, it doesn't have to be Christian, but music with positive messages. Also, if it's on the radio, most of the language is usually censored.

To tell you the truth, that is a really difficult question. I'd say get them listening to different music. If all else fails, get Guitar Praise. I've suggested the game before, and from what I heard, it's not that bad. Hope this gives somewhat of an in site.

Also, I don't think the kids will take the lyrics too seriously. They will just be like "That's on Guitar Hero!!!!!!" If they did take lyrics they hear easily, they would be rocking babies on the tree tops from the old nursury rhymes! JK!!!!

Anyway, good question, and one that's definately good to think about.

There is some talk about words in the songs being cut or bleeped or however they do it. Here's the question for the "fun for the whole family game"... you let your children play it and you feel okay because words are cut. What happens if your child then hears the song on the radio. Will you let them listen? Or do you now have to explain that the song is not appropriate for children and make them turn? Which then of course makes you look like a fool as a parent because you say one thing and yet do another when it comes to a game.

@<a href="#comment-1839" rel="nofollow">Lacey</a>:
Lacey, your right. Do everything for the glory of god. Unfortunately, you slandered that person coming onto a website who briefly gave his opinion, which is completely against the Bible.

31. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. EPH 4:31.

Also, can you point out exactly where he used profanity? I'm having trouble finding it.

Okay, Lacey:

He didn't use profanity. He simply said that people are being FAR too strict regarding this game.
And I agree. What you all apparently fail to realize is that they CENSOR the swearing or even anything remotely objectionable (in the Guitar Hero: Aerosmith game, they censor the word "high" in the context of "pink gets me high as a kite"). Of all the songs in this game, even the Rage Against the Machine one, only ONE exhibits uncensored profanity (the Jane's Addiction song clearly says "G** D****," but that's only on the PS2 version--it's absent in the XBox 360 edition).
If all else fails, though, then yes. Follow Arron's advice and turn the vocals down.
