There is some talk about words in the songs being cut or bleeped or however they do it. Here's the question for the "fun for the whole family game"... you let your children play it and you feel okay because words are cut. What happens if your child then hears the song on the radio. Will you let them listen? Or do you now have to explain that the song is not appropriate for children and make them turn? Which then of course makes you look like a fool as a parent because you say one thing and yet do another when it comes to a game.

@<a href="#comment-1839" rel="nofollow">Lacey</a>:
Lacey, your right. Do everything for the glory of god. Unfortunately, you slandered that person coming onto a website who briefly gave his opinion, which is completely against the Bible.

31. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. EPH 4:31.

Also, can you point out exactly where he used profanity? I'm having trouble finding it.

Okay, Lacey:

He didn't use profanity. He simply said that people are being FAR too strict regarding this game.
And I agree. What you all apparently fail to realize is that they CENSOR the swearing or even anything remotely objectionable (in the Guitar Hero: Aerosmith game, they censor the word "high" in the context of "pink gets me high as a kite"). Of all the songs in this game, even the Rage Against the Machine one, only ONE exhibits uncensored profanity (the Jane's Addiction song clearly says "G** D****," but that's only on the PS2 version--it's absent in the XBox 360 edition).
If all else fails, though, then yes. Follow Arron's advice and turn the vocals down.

@<a href="#comment-1808" rel="nofollow">justin sink</a>:
Well Justin, as you can see this is a CHRISTIAN website. I always check movies here before I take my kids (or even me & my husband) to the movies. Unfortunately, the Bible is a pretty strict book. (I Corinthians 10:31, "Therefore whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God." For an awesome series about rock music & the influence it has on people, see "They Sold Their Souls for Rock N Roll" @ http://www.goodfight.org/

You are obviously a demented person to come on a CHRISTIAN website using profanity & saying something as moronic as "Jesus would think Guitar Hero is awesome", as if he died on the cross for your enjoyment of Guitar Hero.

Anyhow, these songs obviously don't give ANY glory to God whatsoever. That concerns me b/c everytime I walk into Best Buy w/ my 7 & 3 year old, they want to play Guitar Hero & /or Rock Band. I wouldn't mind buying it buy again I don't want to endorse the lyrics or the "artists". So my question for all you gamers out there, is there a way to turn the lyrics or volume of the singing off or way down so that the kids would only be playing the music?

Wow, I was just looking around on google and i came to here, and i have to say, i'm christian, and you people are WAY too strict... Who cares if the song has satanic references... As long as your not a satanist, then i don't think it should matter...

Guitar hero 2 is a really awesome game!

It's should be a 5 out of 5!

I personally don't think games shouldn't be rated ON RELIGION!!!

If this is a Christian site, then why are we giving games secular and Christian ratings?
So, should we have section for strip clubs-- give 'em an overall rating and then a rating for Christians?

Rating for Christians: 1 of 5 (too much nudity)
Overall Rating: 5 of 5 (killer babes; great bodies)

Come on guys, give me a break.

Joe, the christian rating is the one to do with how bad the content is for christians. The overall rating is mainly based on how good the gameplay is.
