ah man! i only got to play half 2 and episode 1 before my xbox broke… and this was probaly the best part.

Sometimes you do or see something that you feel might not have been appropriate for you. A 13-year-old saying "maybe 14+ would be good" is another way of saying "I liked it, but I think a few parts were a bit too much for me, and would be better suited when I'm a bit older" which is the most honest opinion you'll ever hear.

A good way to see this as a learning experience is to start with HL2 as 13+, but space it out enough so the player is a just a bit older by the time they get to Episode 2 due to the higher intensity of it.

I’m sorry. But I think it’s stupid when kids come on here and recommend games they own for people older than them. I’m 16, and I don’t have any opinions on what age should be allowed to play this.
But if you’re 13, and saying this game should be 14+, it just makes you look like a hypocrite.
I’d be just as happy if you said this game was good for kids 13+. It’s like middle-schoolers giving the movie ratings for adults.

Bottom Line: Only give age recommendations for equal to or less than your own.

This is the most intense installment in the series so far. Valve upped the graphics a tiny bit and added one or two new creatures. One part consists of a alien spilling blood into a stream after being killed. This is a game for 14+. I am thirteen but still, I enjoyed it. Another part has an alien stick his tongue through a mans neck and blood splatters from that. Language was a little bit on the rough side but not too bad. Great game and review!

Well, that’s an interesting question. You do shoot aliens(not that it’s less gory, but you also do shoot zombies which were humans at one point. Also, throughout the game you also see bodies, or rather, bits and pieces of bodies, which look like thy were skinned, one which was cut in half by a saw.However, these are already present objects, you dont see people being skinned, although it’s still gory.

Very gory, not when you shoot enemies, but there is lots of blood splatted all over the place, one mild sexual innuendo, other than that its pretty fine, although the ending scene is VERY bloody, gory, and disturbing. 15 and up is probably good, though it depends on the maturity.
