   I’ve played this game through over ten times. I’ve beaten it in less than six hours. The gore isn’t as bad as this review sounds, as the only time there really is major gore is a death by chainsaw, or a 20% chance when you head shot someone. The bosses have too much unrealistic gore to be considered disgusting to most.

   This is one of the best games in the Survival Horror genre! Even if you are not a fan of this genre I recommend atleast renting it and give it a try.

   Unlike the other Resident Evil games which you fight zombies, you fight crazy villagers infected with a Las Plagas that makes them slaves to the cult leader which make zombies look lovable! A game you could beat over and over again. 6/5!!!

   This was the first Resident Evil game I ever played (not a fan of scary games, but my friend got this as a B-day present so I felt guilty if I didn’t try it) and I loved it, the only scary part is towards the very end of the game, when ur on that island with those monsters that can only be killed by using an infared scope…that part really scared me!!!

   I never played this game,I`m planing on getting soon,but so far this game sounds like it has great gameplay and good graphics.

   I just got this game so far it has great gameplay. But it is very violent heads go flying of with blood just spraying out. But it has good gameplay and its fun to play. There are some pretty sick guns in this game.

   Just finished the game on PC. One of the best games I have ever played, although the violence was a bit much. Unrealistic, but still a bit too much. Gameplay and story are great though. Overall, depends on your stomach.

   I miss the zombies. Sure the game was violent, but stupidly so. I do not feel comfortable playing this game when enemy characters are wearing what looks like goat skulls on their heads and doing other cult like things. You are correct in stating that the game has a sense of evil present. I hope number 5 drops the cult stuff.

   The Resident Evil series is probably the only Horror series I could ever recommend. Reason I am not to offended is because say the zombies. The series does not say they are evil. The game tries to explain everything in a scientific manner. None of it is actually “evil” in terms of being demon related. The series has a strange infatuation with viruses like the T Virus, G Virus, Las Plagas. There are only Bad humans. They may be sick mutated humans, but they are humans none the less. Also with Albert Whesker behind some scenes it made it a little more interesting,

   I actually think the remake of the original for the GC was the best looking in my opinion.

   Me Loves a Good Thriller.

    Agreed. Although RE4 does go into a lot more cult-ish content than the previous games (from what I can tell; RE4 is the only RE game I’ve played through)

    @Alan Heer: I agree that some of the enemies are not directly said to be evil. I just think they would have toned down the cult content in #4.

    The greatest game ever created, well at least for another 2 1/2 hours when I receive resident evil 5. This game revolutionalized gaming for me, kinda drug me back into the gaming world. If you havn’t played this yet, you gotta pick it up.

    This game is fantastic. Some of the above comments about the cult in it confuse me. The cult is evil, The game is called Resident evil, if there wasn’t some kind of evil presence or enemy to fight against in it i’d feel ripped off.

    You don’t join the cult you battle against it. Surely this is a good thing.

    It is big on violence but what do you expect when you’re facing maniacs with chainsaws and crazed villagers armed with a shotgun. Its going to make a mess.

    The most disturbing part of this game for me was the end credits as it shows the decent of the village from an idilic retreat to the savage place you find in the adventure. Its incredibly subtle, heartbreaking and gives real weight to the game you just played. all in all a masterpiece.

    Also forgot to mention the FUN you can have with the baddies. Got any eggs? I used a cheat that made me have infinite of them and they did one-hitters. Also knocking over ladders with ganados is VERY FUNNY.

    Resident evil controls are not good. NOT good. Why does Capcom leave them in there? For sake of nostalgia? I'm sick of nostalgia making people think that bad things are good.. just like the NES controller. Let's face it… we all have fond memories..but that doesn't make it good. Anyways, Capcom helped in RE5 with the introduction of sidestepping (thank goodness)..but still no run-n-gun? And everyone seems to be ok with this?
