"but still, its incredibly mild... and i kind of like it... it makes the game more realistic..."

How does it make it more realistic? All he says is d*** and , a few times, H***. And he says the same word excessively from what I hear.

Shadow was cool in SA2B, but he lost his memory in Sonic Heroes. His own game should have focused more on him recovering his lost memory and revealing his past, preferably one without aliens involved.

What mission is that where Sonic says it? I've gotta look that up on youtube, that'd be a shocker to actually hear it coming from Sonic's voice actor.

Well, just about every time you die, he swears, and that gets aggravating if you die a lot (I did when I had it)

Wow. I fell into the same category of "people who buy this game because it's a Sonic game", and now my question to Sega is "Why?"
I knew this game was going to be darker than regular Sonic games off the bat, and I was willing to forgive the weapon system, but I wasn't expecting this.
The language in this game is intolerable. 90% of the times Shadow gets hit or falls off a cliff, he says d***, no exaggeration. I literally got the the point where if I knew I was going to fall, I would pause it, mute the TV, and wait for him to fall before I unmuted it. I didn't want to be desensitized. What's even worse is that not only does the confused anti-hero use it, but it's used once by Espio, multiple times by Knuckles, and, I consider this the worst crime, if you fail a certain mission, Sonic says it.
Squeaky-clean, white-knight, role-model Sonic.
Over the course of the game, Shadow tells Eggman that he's "going straight to h***", attacks military agents mid level using guns or other weapons, and in one level, your "dark mission" is to assassinate the President. No exaggeration. You have to ruthlessly shoot at his escape pod with missiles and turrets until it explodes. Somehow he makes it out alive anyway, but I can't believe they put that in there. One mission involves bombing a city or obliterating it with a giant laser beam from outer space (it's later commented that the city was evacuated first).
I understand that there are games that have worse content, but to me, the worst crime is that it seems downright deceitful to put it in a Sonic-themed game. It's rated E10 (in my eyes it should be "T"), but I'm sure there were plenty of parents who took less scrutiny and were willing to get it simply because they trusted the franchise in the past. Sega alienated its family-friendly crowd in favor of a more 'mature' crowd, but my question is: what mature crowd would want to play a game about brightly colored rodents anyway, even if you do add guns and swear words? The resulting poor reception proved this, and hopefully Sega learned its lesson.

As far as gameplay goes, it is enjoyable enough to finish thoroughly. But even though I am a very big Sonic fan, I was deeply offended by the language and themes, and I cannot with a good conscience recommend this game to anyone.

Despite the fact that this game ruined him (turned him from "cranky bad***" to "gullible emo with a swearing problem"), Shadow is still my favorite Sonic character.

I only rented this game and only played to the "true hero", "true neutral", and "true dark" endings, and quickly grew bored with it.

I always thought a Shadow the Hedgehog game would be cool, but this wasn't what I had in mind.
