@Zack
There are only two ways to dodge a blue shell- hitting a boost/launch pad or being lucky enough to have a boost item on you just before it hits. No skill involved. You can overcome some of the more generic items by holding your own items, such as Koopa shells, behind you, but attacks like lightning, the blue shell, and POW blocks can only be avoided if you have a considerable amount of luck.
Also, the item situation gets worse depending on what tracks you're racing. And trust me- it's pretty darn bad on 150 CC. Like I said, the situations I described in the review happened regularly, more than once a race, playing in those leagues.
As for bikes, that may be a point of view thing, but the Mach Bike and the Bullet Bike are two of the ones I was thinking of when I said that. They work fine on easy courses, but taking one of those babies to a course like Rainbow Road... Doesn't always turn out well if you're not willing to slow down to take turns or make sure you hit them just right.
In other words, I stand by my statement in the review. All of this is just my opinion, of course.

I feel that your complaint for aggressive items is unjustified. If you were a truely skilled player, you can overcome the items thrown at you and win. Also, what you described about items happens a lot less often then you make it out to be. Also, your comment about bikes not being able to turn to save their lives: you've been driving the wrong ones. Try Mach Bike, or Bullet Bike.

this game is really fun and (sadly) quite addictive, the steering wheel which you can get makes the game MUCH easier. Still not as much fun as Mario Kart Super Circut, (which you can play some of it's tracks on there as well) when the computer doesn't want you to win it won't let you! and if you use a mushroom while on ice, you will die!
