This is a great game, although, yes, i would not recommend it if you do not like bad language or violence, otherwise, this is an amazing game, it is not as addicting as people say it is, this is just something parents just like to say to keep there kids off of the game. Anyway, I give it 4/5, and on another note, as a Christian, there are many different religions with other gods, and magic use, and warlocks, mages, shamans, etc, but my point is THIS IS A GAME! As long as the person playing this game is at least 14 or a mature 13 year old, there is NOTHING wrong with this game! :)

I don't see anything wrong with this game. There is alot of fighting, but hardly any blood. There are undead characters that you can play as but they are not very demonic. The only class is see a problem with is the warlock they sumon very weird and sometimes very "ify" monsters. There are a few gloomy places you can play in and when level past level 30 you start to use more and more magic but none i see is very demonic even when you play with the evil people you are still fighting evil not playing as it in the new expansion of wow there is a new class [DEATH KNIGHT] I would sugest to stay away from this particular class because you can turn undead no matter what race you are and you use extensive magic with the DEATH KNIGHT but from a christian view I would say it fine just keep an I on your children if you are letting you children play and Please put a time limit on your children's play time because I have been addicted and I don't want any child going through that!

The only problem with this game is its extremely addictive nature. To any Christians also playing this game: don't let WoW get in the way of your walk with God. If you are a responsible person who is mature enough to not let that happen, then I don't see a problem with. However, if you know yourself well enough to know that will be a problem, then don't play it.

About the spiritual overtones in this game (spells, magic, demons, etc.): you must always, ALWAYS remember that this is a work of fiction. You must be mature enough to realize that none of this stuff is real. The second you give any of this stuff the time of day in real life, you risk recognizing a power other than God. It then becomes a violation of the first 2 commandments. Many people seem to blur the lines between what is real and what isn't. See Matthew 15:17-20.

Also, Romans 14:14 is another good verse to take a look at.

I appreciate the hard work and effort that our Christian volunteers put into creating reviews. In this instance, I would have to say that I do disagree with the review in regards to the Christian rating of 4/5. I myself would give a much lower score.

-The game makes heavy use of magic, sorcery, witchcraft, spiritualism, etc... It is impossible to play this game without encountering constant exposure to this element. I believe we are taught to guard ourselves from these practices, despite what name the secular community puts behind it (e.g. Dark or Light Magic). I would highly recommend reading Acts 19:18-20. I believe this game falls into the same category.
See Also Micah 3:5, Acts 13:6-10

-Although the violence in world of warcraft is not as animated as other games, it is still inappropriate. The object of the game (Improving your character) is accomplished by killing animals, people, and/or creatures. This is one of the main themes of the game. In the course of advancing to the upper levels, a player will have killed or murdered thousands of creatures or humans. Should we be acting out a violation of the 6th commandment?

-It has been commented by some already that this game is very addicting and can take up large amounts of time. This may be a problem to some with regard to the first commandment, "Thou shalt have no other gods before Me." Consider the following quote:
"Man is forbidden to give to any other object the first place in his affections or his service. Whatever we cherish that tends to lessen our love for God or to interfere with the service due Him, of that do we make a god."[1]

There are many other aspects of this game I could comment on. For the interest of size I will just say please be careful and remember "The eye is the lamp of the body.." and "...where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Its a great game! Very different from most MMORPGs (massive multiplayer online role playing game). They usually take place in medieval times but this game has many modern touches from rifles to space shuttles. The game also has a very large and beautiful map where you can litteraly travel from a temperate forested area to a cold mountain chain. Best of all when you finnaly max out your character to 60 (or 70 if you have Burning Crusade) there are still things to do. This game guarantees a wonderful gaming experience, even if you only have 30 minutes to play

WARNING: Before you play I should advise you to do research on the classes and races before you jump in. You don't want to be bored with your character.

All of the comments (well most of them) are describing the worst of this game. When you start off you begin not very intense or "gory", till' you get to the high levels then it gets more intense but not a whole lot... The one thing I would stay away from is the race Undead this is the only race where it gets not a whole lot but more "gory"...

But overall this a GREAT game. I absolutely recommend it!

I would rate it at a 7/5 game.

But yes it is a addicting game. BUT! you can put parental controls so you can make how much time the player plays.
Which is a trait that not much other games have.
(Oh and its free for putting parental controls on)

My pastor plays this game, my husband plays this game and I used to play this game (before I ran out of time) and I think moderation is the key. When my husband first signed up I was dead against it - I felt it was demonic and evil. But as a seasoned Christian I realised that such a black and white opinion is not needed.

The addiction levels of this game to me are cause for concern however. God gave us this life to LIVE, to interact with others in real life, and to get out into the world for God and form relationships with His children - and I made the call that I was getting too involved in life online and not involved enough in the life God had given me. Others may disagree, and thats ok, but even my pastor is starting to break away from this game and do other things. I cant condemn this game, because my husband's view of Christianity was significantly changed due to the fact that my pastor plays it and through the relationship they formed my husband became a Christian, but CAUTION is needed!!!

The problem that most people have with the game is the dark magic, demons, and even the undead. The thing about it is that you are not only DESTROYING them, but they are also nowhere near to the look of actual demons at all.

ALso, I would like to add something about the sexuality. While there is almost nothing concerning this in the game, except for one creature you can summon, many players run around in underwear, and sometimes use nude patches. Be warned!
