I must say i'm surprised of all the christians playing this game and saying they like it. Seriously! People would compare this to other games and say at least its not as bad as GTA. And its a Rockstar game! About all the games from them are bad except for a few

I have played through this game, and yes I am a Christian. In no way does this affect my walk with Christ. Its what it is, a game and when you turn your console off at the end of the day, you have committed no crimes and done nothing wrong. Further, this is my opinion but if you have not played the game, please do not submit a review. The Game does not reward shooting cops, and in some cases, you will get 3-4 Wanted Level Stars and unless you can outrun the Police, you will not last long at all. Shooting down Choppers gets you more stars. In fact, the idea is to avoid shoot outs with the police at all costs.

I think that the sex in a video game is very bad and definitely not something anyone should be involved in. Strong profanity is also bad, but in GTA 4 you can turn the voices off. Also, I have gone through extensive research and as far as I know you are not required to do anything sexual in this game, and if you wanted to you would have to go looking for it. If you are a mature Christian you shouldn't want to go looking for it. Almost every video game has violence and if you are a mature Christian adult or teenager the violence in this game should be fine.

I don't see why aynone would wanna play a game where your a hit man who kills cops and steals cars. That would make the game out of the question even excluding all the violence, sex, and F words.

I...I can't understand how you could possibly not think there was something wrong with "Grand Theft Auto." Even the name implies stealing and criminal behavior. Furthermore if you just OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK ON THE FRONT COVER THERE IS A PICTURE OF AN INNAPROPRIATE LOOKING WOMAN! It also says MATURE 17+ and STONG SEXUAL CONTENT and STONG LANGUAGE and STRONG VIOLENCE. So while your at work or watching tv your 8 year old child is in his room having virtual sex with a prostitute or going to strip clubs or hearing F*** every five seconds. I'm not trying to be mean, all i'm saying is for all you parents especially (Christian parents) who let their little kids play this stuff - OPEN YOUR EYES AND ACTUALLY MAKE AN EFFORT TO PROTECT YOUR CHILDERN!

Could someone please tell me if you are even just once required to go to strip clubs and be involved in sexual material in this game, or if ALL of that is just optional.

Thank you very much for your advise, however, now I will go and search the scriptures to see whether or not what you said is true.
Also, i'm still on the fence about GTA4. Yes you're right about the strippers and such, but, It's a choice the player makes. And I do think praying before you get a game is important, even E-rated games 'cause there still could be content you don't know about. And lastly, what it comes down to is the person studying the bible to and asking God for advise. Thank you very much for your words and God bless.

Now if someone reads this post and is still hard hearted against what God has said then remember, the scriipturs are God's word not mine. If you have a problem with this post then I would advise examining your life to see if you are right with God, or even if you are saved.
Matt 7:21"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."
I do not wright this as an insult to those who do not agree with me. I write this as one who is a preacher's son who thought that church attendance, serving in the church, and all that religious stuff made me right with God, and gave me the licens to indulge in whatever media I so chose. I found out that one who is truly saved and right with God strayes from the appearence of evil and does not try to make excuses to do it, or say that it is not. And lets be honest, video games as a whole, even if they are clean as possible are a waste of time, and Christians should keep the playing of such to a minimum. "We cannot serve two masters." "Choose this day whom you will serve."

And for those who say it is just a game, it says in I Samue 16:7 "But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."
God is concerned about the heart. It does not matter if it is a game or not, you are violating God's law by playing this game.
Lastly the reason why I am so apposed to this game, and most games in general, is because Jesus said in Mattew 6:24
"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." "Choose this day whom you will serve." The flesh and the spirit are at war constantly. You cannot love both God and the flesh. There are many more verses in God's word that speak against the sin in this game, so do not ask if the game is something a christian should play, God made it plain.
