I should say whe you DON'T believe God rules everything, then your just pretty much cussing him out. That, I can't explain. But I get what they are saying. If you DO believe God rules everything and can save you, well, I can guess that as a different story.

How right you are. However, that doesn't spoil the entire game either. It's an entertaining and challlenging bit of fun.

I would much rather someone say "OMG" than "Oh My God". Even though they mean they same, to hear his actual name blasphemed is hard for me to hear. But you are right also. They do mean the same thing and reducing God's name to a g such as in a text message is just as wrong. I once heard this saying: "No one else in our history has been paired with a cuss word. People don't say Hitlerd***it or Oh My Saddam, yet the wonderful name of Jesus is blasphemed with such passion or lack thereof and so often that people don't even think about it now.(Paraphrased)" I even hear atheists blaspheme God. People who profess to not believe in God, will often curse at Him with such malice. Have you read the Serenity manga series? the first book deals a lot with cussing and here is what one character says: "Casual blasphemy today makes it easier to ignore God tomorrow." They were contemplating what exactly made cuss words bad and this is a perfect example why people shouldn't cuss. Crude cuss words lead to more profane cuss words. Those words lead to blasphemes which leads to defiance. Defiance helps no one except Satan the defiant devil. So neither g or God should not be used in vain where g means God.

It's sad not only has it become accepted to take The Lord's name in vain, but God's namehas been reduced to a g.

Well, I guess if you do really say it out of a desire to be protected by God then it isn't in vain, but I would have never thought of saying "omg" when I want God to protect me. Then again, I have never been in a situation that calls for it. Omg is more used in an exclamatory manner anyways and from what I have heard it has never been used reverently. Same as "Jesus!", "sweet Jesus!", and many variations where the exclamatory phrase is not directed toward God. Basically anything using God's name casually or irreverently is in vain.
