I just totaled Dark Gaia. After you defeat him, his eyes kinda explode into this green goop(Blood).

This game was fun until the final boss battle (Blast you, Dark Gaia!). At the last boss battle, you fight a boss that I would except to see in P-13 horror movie instead of a E-10 Sonic game. There are plenty of references to the temples and shrines being "Holy" and "Sacred" which is very annoying. There are probably more appropriate Sonic's out there. I'm probably never going to fight that final boss ever again. But the normal stages are good.

I have this game and it was pretty much about sonic trying to help his friends. Also the temples did not seem very religious. I did not see anything bad about that

I don't recall the game ever calling them "demons", but then again, I haven't actually played it, so there might be dialog that I missed.

If the gameplay is fun, which I'd say it is, then that's all that really matters since those elements didn't even exist in the great games of yesterday. Besides, this is Sonic so what do you expect? Hopefully not a super epic plot.
