I have some questions. This game is really old, and yet I've read great things about it. Is it still fun? I heard the combat is horrible, but does it get better after you level up your character? Is the game worth playing? (Also, please forgive my horrible grammar)

Sure, after playing Oblivion, you laugh at the comparably poor graphics, but the main quest and other quests are a lot of fun, and I have spent many hours of my life playing this game, AND the expansions that go with it (Bloodmoon and Tribunal).

There's quite a few things that were missed in here. For one, the world of Morrowind is very gray in terms of morality. Necromancy, that is, the summoning of undead to aid you in combat is an accepted practice by all save for a small faction of dunmer (dark elves). Furthermore, vivec (One of the three gods associated with the tribunal temple) appears to be an extremely powerful being whom is both flawed and mortal. In short, the tribunal's patrons would best be described as more virtuous versions of the Greek gods. The word "Cult" is thrown around without much regard for its actual meaning, as a major religion affiliated with a faction is literally called, "The Imperial Cult" though it focuses on the worship of a pantheon, exclusively, not like ancient Egypt. There are occasional references to sexuality found within some books, and some enemies (I agree, the bonewalker creeped me out the first time I saw it.) such as the lame corpus are grossly deformed or otherwise unsettling. Furthermore, the school of conjuration includes the summoning of beings known as 'Daedra' which while sometimes called demons, are explicitly said not to be, instead being otherworldly beings with a penchant for extremes and chaos. They generally have varied apperances, ranging from elemental creatures to beasts (though some look distinctly evil) so it could be inferred that they are simply there out of a need for a stereotypical "Monster" race. However, it is quite easy to play a character that does not use conjuration as there are roughly 23 other skills to choose from. Furthermore, there is a rather unsettling mechanic in Enchantment that requires the harvesting of an enemy's soul to empower an object at an enchanter, requiring a soul-gem of sufficient capacity, and the killing of a creature about a minute after you successfully cast the appropriate spell. There is very little information on what the different factions think of this, other than that it is implied that it's universally accepted. Thankfully, you do not need to do this as enchanted objects may be found pre-made in the game world, and will recharge on their own given enough time. As a final note, there are multiple spells that appear to be different versions of others that are named after the saints or gods of either the imperial cult, or the tribunal temple. (I.E. Almalexia's grace, almsivi intervention.) though due to a lack of intervention some spells excluding the aforementioned could simply be named after their inventors.

This is a great review. Although Suran house of earthly delights is not mentioned, it is covered by what you said about nudity and is removable on pc via the TES Construction set. To my knowledge with the BloodMoon expansion, the nordic "All-maker" is the pretty close to God. :) Otherwise, the game is a great passtime!

I'm sorry I missed the part about Suran- I didn't know about the House of Earthly Delights until after I wrote this. :( Still, I think it already fits in with what I mentioned anyway- scantily clad women. If people have a problem with that then they wouldn't play this game anyway.

This reviewer left out several things, as mentioned above. Yes, there is some dark spirituality in the game, but nothing too offensive to any Christian. The main thing left out of the G2G review is The House of Earthly Delights in Suran. The player does not have to go there, but it is still there. The women in this strip club only appear in their underwear, and dance suggestively. Aside from these things, and a few mild swear words throughout, this is a great RPG for anyone who likes open-ended fantasy.
