In the immortal words of MGS4...war has changed.
It was once a hated time, where many were lost, and were mourned for, but now...it's entertainment. Seriously, if halo 3 is wrong to play, then how do you stomach the fact that there are people in Iraq, fading away while fighting for us, so that we could have fun playing a shooting game? I'm not against shooting games, as I agree with red five, and even have my own favorites of the genre, but why is it necessary for all the violence, in goldeneye 007 you could bloody a guy's clothes (seriously, I never understood what the G2G review meant by "heavy violence", what the heck, dude?), in COD Black ops, you can shoot brains out, and they clutter the battlefield, but yet it's only "blood and gore, violence, and (strong? whatever) language". But snake eater got the boot with "intense violence", and from what I hear, isn't even as close to intense violence as black ops is.
Honestly, if you want a good, new shooting game that doesn't overdo violence and inappropriate content, get this, or goldeneye 007 wii, there are plenty of good choices out there.

Soldiers actually go out into the real world and kill actual, living human beings. "Halo 3" involves manipulating pixels to kill other pixels. Those things are not at all comparable. Given the choice, I'd rather every single person on the planet played "Halo 3" than that we ever went to war again, sadly unavoidable as it is.

The war starts with the aliens shooting at the humans. This is pretty much what happend.

Some human ships come out of Slipspace (Halo version of Hyperspace). As soon as they come out, the aliens blow up their ships. They never even met the aliens before that.

If you want to learn more about what happend you could probably Google it, or read the book Halo: The Fall of Reach. Or, you could read the short graphic novel Halo Genesis.

I agree completely! I'm glad there are others who think like this. I'm also glad you're going back to church.
