The game makes a bad first impression but you have to keep playing. It gets much better and has the best characters of any video game.

I especially like playing an elf whenever I get the chance. The City Elf story was one of my favorite in the game. How most of the coty elves worship "The Maker. And it was the elves who first backed Andrastea. Some of the elves lost their way and went back to worshiping their old gods. Andrastea and the maker seem to be reminiscent of a certain someones, though they will never compare to the real thing. It seems games are getting to be more like books, then just mindless child playthings.

I'm surprised the reviewer didn't mention the amount of anti-Christian banter both Morrigan and Shale comment on during the game. A lot of the writing for their dialogue is often mocking or outright offense. Most of it comes right out of the Atheist book of arguments against God.

Oh, and John Fox, there are occultic symbols, such as the image of the 'All Seeing Eye' on the Chantry robes and inside buildings.

What also irritates me is how much like the Catholic church they try to turn the Chantry into and sort of make is seem as if it's Christian.

Beyond all that, it's a pretty good game.

Haven't played Sonic Chronicles, so I couldn't say. I would have probably given the game more time if not for the fact that a lot of other people had my same experience and said it never got better for them. I stopped playing and gave Mass Effect 2 another playthrough; much more enjoyable.

I would also like to add that magic seems to be drawn from The Fade which is basically a realm where humans and elfs go when they sleep. :)
